The Animated Series' Creator Has Seen Your Season 2 Bingo Cards — And She Has Positive Updates

The much-anticipated second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video soon, and fan speculation has been intense.

Season 1 introduces a large cast of personalities living within the afterlife, pits them against each other with musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and establishes heated competitions and emotional bonds that drive audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 vary widely, but certain threads recur frequently: Could Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the binding agreement affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with audience demands as the main goal," the showrunner commented recently. "However I feel like me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.

That might mean fans have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how fast the new season progresses, and how much of what they're waiting for happens this season.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we get some incredible reveals, some fascinating backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — especially in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a few fans create a prediction grid about season 2," she says. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've actually done a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
